The Child Health Club

Back in 2003 Iyyappan started a 'Child Health Club' in a local village called Sholinganallur were the children of that village were shown basic health and hygiene. India is littered with villages were the rejects of society live. These people are the poorest of the poor with no opportunity to better themselves and their living conditions. The Child Health Club was a great success and it wasn't long before the children were being given a basic education. Something the government would never have provided for them. The children's parents were very pleased with the club as their children were being cared for and educated and their quality of life was starting to improve.

The Little Buds School

One year later in October 2004 the first load of bricks arrived for the new Little Buds school. The school is built right beside the Little Hearts orphanage and the children are brought in from the nearby Sholinganallur village by bus in the morning and brought home again in the evening.

There are now over 100 children attending the Little Buds school with approximately 10 staff  including teachers and helpers.

The new school is split into 8 classrooms and the children are taught in both their native language Tamil and also in English. They are also taught bible lessons and told about Gods love which will give these children a great foundation for being raised in a Hindu society.
